Emerson Stewart Group was launched in 2005 in response to addressing the changing needs of industry.

The company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange in June 2008 (ASX: ESW).

In developing the business model, a progressive model embracing traditional values with the needs of modern business we were drawn to Nellie Ward Emerson (1892 - 1958) and William James Stewart (1855 - 1924) who were both significant contributors in the development of Western Australia in the early 20th century.

In February 2010, the Emerson Stewart Group acquired Whelans (WA) Pty Ltd a business that can trace its origins to the 1920's when Alexander Graham formed a Perth based survey practice.
