Emerson Stewart Group Limited (ASX: ESW) today announced that during March it had been awarded some $2.7M worth of new business across its Whelans and Emerson Stewart businesses. The work ranged from scoping studies, project management, environmental and approvals assignments to town planning and surveying and engineering across the infrastructure and resources sectors.
Group CEO Dario Amara said he was pleased with the positive trend that occurred during March particularly given the quality of the clients and the scope of the work secured.
Brian Hill, Managing Director of Whelans commented, "the business continues to be buoyed by work opportunities in the infrastructure sector securing key project surveying packages and strategic town planning work in Perth and Regional Centres. Land Development in Perth is also shaping up to be an exciting 2010 with the economy picking up and confidence returning."
Whelans have also recently purchased the latest Leica Scan Station C10, the fastest and most versatile laser scanning system. This new High-Definition Surveying Scanner is designed to increase surveying productivity and accuracy in both routine surveys and large, complex projects. It is capable of scanning up to 50,000 points per second, and can scan sites such as towers, bridges, buildings, industrial plants and tunnels that may have dangerous and difficult to reach areas.
Dario Amara added that the integration process with the Whelans business was progressing very well and was on track and synergistic benefits were beginning to be realised with respect to business generation.
